The Electronic Arts Play Label of Electronic Arts Inc. announced that The Sims 3 is in development for consoles and handhelds. The critically-acclaimed "The Sims 3" is expected to release for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS this fall.
Millions of players embraced the game when it launched last summer for Windows-Based PCs and Mac, making it one of the biggest PC launch in the history of Electronic Arts. The Sims 3 will continue to gain momentum with the exciting upcoming titles.
Executive Producer at Electronic Arts, Sam Player, explained that they are bringing players the best console and handheld game for The Sims franchise to date, and that they are excited to offer a unique experience for all the different types of gamers on their choice of platform. He also said that they are developing exclusive features for each platform of The Sims 3 to allow more control, creativity, and connectivity.
In the upcoming "The Sims 3" for consoles and handhelds, the player will be given the chance to create Sims with absolutely unique personalities, with the ability to control their lives afterwards, within a living neighborhood. All the new features will additionally make it easier for the player to mess with the life of his Sims, as he has the ability to unlock ultimate "Karma Powers" for instant control and unleash them upon his Sims. Players can bless their Sims with "Instant Beauty" or curse them with an "Epic Fail", but they should always use these power wisely, because they may lead to unexpected results where the karma may come back to bite you.
The Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 versions of The Sims 3 will offer Rich and immersive game play complimented with a seamlessly integrated exchange system feature, where players will be able to share their built creations online, and also download content from other players around the world, without even exiting the game. Gamers will be also able to share achievements with friends by connecting to Facebook.
The Nintendo Wii version of "The Sims 3" will have an exclusive feature where player will be able to enjoy an absolutely new beach town with unique residents, careers and lifetime wishes. Players can enjoy The Sims 3 on the Wii with friends by going head-to-head in the new "Life Moments" game to earn rewards. The game will also challenge them with several adventure quests while exploring their town to discover exciting secrets.
The Nintendo DS version of "The Sims 3" will offer a never before seen feature, where the player will be able to use the stylus to build and create the homes of their Sims with tools, which can draw walls and floors, and customize decor objects, textures and more. The stylus will be also used to sculpt the facial features of the Sims. In "The Sims 3" Story Mode for the Nintendo DS, players will have to take control of multiple Sims within a family and enjoy the special moments in life. For the first time ever on the handheld Nintendo DS console, players will be able to fully enjoy a complete life simulation as they lead their Sims through challenges which will unlock additional items, new building, landmarks, and many more.
General Manager of The Sims Studio, Scott Evans, explained that The Sims franchise continues to be one of the most successful video games of all time, by providing universally appealing content and focusing on the player's imagination, emergent game play mechanics, and the innate humor evident in the virtual world of The Sims.
