The closed-beta test for the highly-anticipated World of Warcraft: Cataclysm has just begun, as announced by Blizzard Entertainment.
Blizzard Entertainment has already started approving invitations of players who participated through their Battle.net accounts. The beta testers will be able to enjoy an early look at the game and also provide feedback which will be valuable to the balance issues of the game.
CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, Mike Morhaime, said that their focus with Cataclysm has been to build on the knowledge that they have gained through the previous expansions to deliver the best and most compelling World of Warcraft content for their players to date. He also stated that gathering focused feedback during the beta test will go a long way in helping them reach that goal when they launch Cataclysm later this year.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is the third expansion pack for the most popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game in the world, in which Azeroth will be forever changed by the return of the Dragon Aspec Deathwing.
Players will be able to explore familiar areas which have been reshaped by devastation. They will also be able to play as worgen or goblins, which are two all-new races for the game. The level cap of the game has been raised by five levels, which means that the level cap is now 85.
