Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Surpasses One Billion USD in Worldwide Retail Sales

The Game Continues to Set Retail Sell Records

Activision Blizzard Inc. announced today that Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues to make retails sales crossing the One Billion USD mark worldwide, since its launch in November.

In the first five days of the game’s launch, it sold an estimated 550 million USD worldwide, surpassing five-day worldwide gross figures for such movies as Avatar, Harry Potter and others, according to the internal Activision estimates and box office mojo.

Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare is a first-person shooter video game, developed by Infinity Ward for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii game consoles and MAC OS X and Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. Published by Activision, the game was released in November 2007 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, September 2008 for Mac OS X and November 2009 for the Nintendo Wii.

The game is followed by its sequel – Call Of Duty – Modern Warfare 2 and is the fourth installment of the Call of Duty Franchise.
