Darkspore In Development By Maxis Studio

DarkSpore AnnouncementThe Electronic Arts Studio, Maxis, announced that its next project is going to be an online sci-fi action rpg entitled, Darkspore. The game is going to combine action and fiction elements, and is expected to launch in February, 2011.

“Darkspore is inspired in part by the award-winning creature editor tech of Spore, but also in large part from the team’s own passion for gaming and prior experience,” said Lucy Bradshaw, General Manager of Maxis Studio. “The team has combined these inspirations to produce a unique take on the action RPG genre.”

Electronic Arts Announces Limited Edition Medal of Honor

Medal of Honor Limited EditionA limited edition version of Medal of Honor was announced by Electronic Arts, in which players will get access to the unique weapon, MP7, and also access to the TOZ-194 and 870MC2 shotguns from day one. Other players will have to level up in order to unlock those shotguns.

Executive Producer of Medal of Honor, Greg Goodrich, said that access to a weapon like the MP7 will allow players to experience a tool developed with the Special Operations Community in mind. He also said that with is light weight and high rate of fire and its ability to penetrate body armor, the MP7 handles like a pistol yet allows targets to be engaged like a rifle.

The football game console engine has been optimized to run on Windows-Based PCs, delivering next generation gameplay to the FIFA 11.

Dragon Age 2 In DevelopmentThe leading video game developer and studio of Electronic Arts, BioWare, confirmed today the development of Dragon Age 2 at their studio based in Edmonton.

Dragon Age 2 is going to be the sequel to the triple-platinum-selling Dragon Age: Origins which received “RPG of the Year” in 2009 by Game Informer, G4, IGN and SpikeTV. More action and a new responsive combat system with a dynamic storyline will be introduced in the new Dragon Age 2 RPG. The game is expected to release in March of 2011 on the Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and Windows-Based PCs.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Cooperative ONSLAUGHT ModeThe Electronic Arts Inc. Studio, DICE, announced that their Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is going to expand its award winning multiplayer experience with the new “Onslaught” game mode. “Onslaught” will bring cooperative game play to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for the first time ever on a console.

The new Onslaught mode is expected to release on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace and Sony PlayStation Network soon. This is just another reason for players to give the game a chance.

The New Battlefield: Bad Company 2 cooperative “Onslaught” mode will be able to be played by up to four players across four multiplayer maps, which are Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes, and Nelson Bay.

Medal of Honor Release DateElectronic Arts Inc. announced today that the legendary war-based first-person shooter titled Medal of Honor is going to launch on the 15th of October, 2010 throughout Europe.

The shipping date will be announced today through an emotionally charged trailer called “Leave a Message”. The trailer will show a United Stated Army Ranger platoon heading into combat on a helicopter. The chaos and uncertainty of the mission is belied by the reassuring voice of one of the Rangers as he reaches out to his family back home.

This new title offers players an all-new experience from the franchise by allowing them to travel with their Sims to three real world destinations in Egypt, France and China.

Each of those locations offers a variety of possibilities for the Sims including adventures and even romance. The game features the ability to import and export the player’s Sims appearance back and forth between the iPhone and iPod Touch versions of The Sims World Adventures and The Sims 3.

Ferrari Returning to Need for Speed after Seven Years of Hiatus.Electronic Arts Inc. announced today that the elite automaker brand Ferrari is returning to work with Need for Speed again, after a seven year hiatus. Need for Speed: Shift players will be able to download a new content pack that delivers ten stunning Ferrari vehicles including the 430 Scuderia and the Ultra-Rare FXX and F50 GT. Need for Speed: Shift players will feel the rush of being behind the wheel of a Ferrari car. The downloadable content-pack will be available on 16th of Febraury.

The Ferrari Racing Pack is the latest downloadable content for the Need For Speed: Shift racing game, and will be available worldwide today on the Xbox 360 home console for only eight-hundred (800) Microsoft Point. Need for Speed: Shift and Xbox LIVE accounts are required in order to be able to purchase it.
