Activision Publishing announced today that Call of Duty: Black Ops is in development by n-Space for the Nintendo DS portable gaming device.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops for the Nintendo DS is going to take the handheld Call of Duty experience to a new level,” said Dan O’Leary, n-Space Studio Head. “From taking the controls of an attack helicopter to flying an experimental stealth fighter jet, players will have a wealth of new features to utilize.”

The Nintendo DS version of Call of Duty: Black Ops will feature unique online multiplayer mode with a Perk system, with six player max. A multiplayer online two-player cooperative mode will also be featured, as well as Arcade and Challenge modes.

Activision Publishing announced that James Bond 007: Blood Stone is being developed by Bizzare Creations. It is expected to be an original Bond experience from the legendary screenwriter Bruce Feirstein. Award Winning artist Joss Stone will create original music for the game.

“James Bond 007: Blood Stone captures the cinematic intensity of a Bond film by immersing players in an intriguing conspiracy that will require them to think and act like James Bond,” said David Pokress, Head of Marketing for Licensed Properties, Activision Publishing. “In addition, the game will feature a diverse array of multi-player modes and debut strategic objective-based game play that will allow Xbox 360, PS3TM and PC players to battle as teams of spies and mercenaries through authentic Bond locales.”

Activision Publishing announced that the second downloadable map package that contains new multiplayer maps for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 military first-person shooter is now available in North America for the Sony PlayStation 3 Computer Entertainment System and all over the world for Windows-Based Personal Computers.

The downloadable Resurgence map package for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be available today, the 7th of July, 2010, for the Sony PlayStation 3 gaming console in Europe and Australia.

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, today announced Activision Blizzard as its latest member.

Activision Blizzard is based in Santa Monica, California, and is a leading market worldwide pure-play online and console game publisher. The company’s Activision Publishing division operates two game development studios in the UK, which are Bizarre Creations and FreeStyleGames.

One of the leading video game publishers worldwide, Activision Publishing, and Microsoft, announced today that all Call of Duty game add-ons and downloadable content packages will be first released on the Xbox LIVE Online Entertainment Network exclusively, courtesy of the multi-year agreement between the two companies.

The agreement officially began in 2009, and now extends for all downloadable content packages for the mega-blockbuster Call of Duty Franchise throughout the year 2012, which includes Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Activision Publishing announced that Guitar Hero is now available on Apple App Store for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The game is developed by Vicarious Visions, and is based on easy-to-play mechanics.

The new game features an all-new addictive gameplay which is exclusively designed and adapted to the style of the iPhone and iPod Touch mobile devices. Guitar Hero for Apple’s handhelds will keep you rocking out while you tap, strum, slide and whammy on the hottest rock tracks from famous bands such as Queen, Rise Against, The Rolling Stones, and much more.

Guitar Hero fanatics are going to be very excited to hear that the all-new and redesigned guitar controller inspired by rock music for Activision’s Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock will be debuted this September. The style of the controller was inspired by the unique art of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock that players will get to experience in the new Quest Mode.

Guitar Hero fans have the change to customize their guitar controller with their own unique styles, as they are now allowed to remove and replace the ‘wings’ of the guitar.

The second downloadable content package for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 entitled The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Package, will be available to download today from 6.00 PM UK Time and 7.00 PM CET. The pack will be released on the Xbox LIVE Online entertainment network. The second map pack follows the ground breaking records from the first map pack, with millions of gamers around the world joining the actions in its opening days.

Developed by Infinity Ward, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack adds five additional multiplayer levels, including three all-new locations along with two updated classic locations from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

The second downloadable content package for Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 military first-person shooter video game will be released exclusively on the Microsoft Xbox 360 video game console on the 2nd of June, 2010. Infinity Ward and Microsoft released a video in which they review the five new multiplayer maps from the latest “Resurgence Package” downloadable content.

Like the first downloadable content package known as the “Stimulus Package”, the second batch of downloadable content, “The Resurgence Package” will deliver three all-new multiplayer maps for the game
