The publisher of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 video game hit has announced that a second downloadable content pack for the game is currently planned to arrive in the second half of 2010, which means it will release sometime between July and December.
Activision Blizzard COO Thomas Tippl explained that they plan to release the second map pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 while discussing the company's lineup for the "Black half of the year" during today's investor conference call.
The first downloadable content package for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was firstly released on the Microsoft Xbox 360 video game console before hitting the Sony PlayStation 3 and Windows-Based PC versions of the game in May 2010. The "Stimulus Package" offers five additional multiplayer maps for the price of 15 USD. The second package for the game will be available to Xbox 360 owners first before releasing on the PlayStation 3 and Windows-Based PCs.
The price for the second downloadable content package for Modern Warfare 2 has not been revealed. Thomas Tippl however, said that the price of 15 USD has still provided a fantastic value to the gamers, and that they think that has worked.
I personally think that charging 15 USD for five map packs has "not provided a fantastic value to gamers", because of all online complains. However, players of the Modern Warfare 2 video-game have no choice but to "byte" on the downloadable content.
Meanwhile, Treyarch are developing the new Call of Duty: Black Ops, which is expected to release on the 9th of November, 2010.
