Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today the launch of The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest, a third-person action adventure video game offering a family-friendly gameplay experience based on The Lord of the Rings, for PlayStation 3 with PlayStation Move motion controller support, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS hand-held, PlayStation 2 and PSP (PlayStation Portable) system.
The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest empowers parents and families to become the legendary Aragorn and embark upon his most valiant battles from The Lord of the Rings literary trilogy and films.
Wielding a sword, shield, bow or spear, players journey through a colourful rendition of Middle-earth and take down enemies in an action-packed adventure.
“The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest lets fans relive the greatest adventures from Middle-earth and experience them in an exciting new way, as well as introduce younger gamers to the trilogy,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “For the first time, players can become the heroes from J.R.R. Tolkien’s world using the PlayStation®Move motion controller or the Wii as they wield Aragorn’s sword and Gandalf’s staff in well-known scenes from The Lord of the Rings.”
Actors Sean Astin and John Rhys-Davies reprise their The Lord of the Rings film roles as the voices of Samwise Gamgee, who narrates the game, and Gimli. Both the PlayStation 3 system and Wii versions include two-player co-op gameplay featuring Gandalf so children, families and friends can work together in the heart of the action.
The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest for PlayStation 3 system, Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2 system and PSP system is rated PEGI “12”.
