Electronic Arts will celebrate the largest sporting event worldwide with the only officially licensed videogame for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Football fans and gamers will be able to enjoy the FIFA 2010 World Cup on the Sony PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation Portable and Mobile in April 2010, while the real tournament begins in June.
FIFA 2010 World Cup South Africa will feature all 199 national teams that took a part in the qualifications and all ten official stadiums that are going to be used in South Africa plus all the stadiums from each qualifying region. Gamers that adore football will be able to play with their home nation team, from the qualification, right to the FIFA World Cup Final. Gamers, football fans and other players will have the opportunity to feel what it's like to lift a whole nation on its feet by scoring stunning goals. The game will also feature everything that football fans adore in a real-life football game from the tournament its self, including the fireworks, the streamers and the confetti rain.
For the first time ever in a FIFA videogame, players can compete with fans from other rival countries, and have the chance to be crowned the 2010 FIFA World Cup champion in an online World Cup Tournament. Fans from countries that failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup have the chance to change that and re-write history.
The FIFA World Cup for the Nintendo Wii is presented in an art style that celebrates the cultural "vibrancy" of Africa.
