Leading developer and publisher of video games, Capcom, confirmed today that the highly anticipated sequel to Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2, is going to be released in Europe on the 3rd of September. The game will be released in North America on the 31st of August and in Japan on the 2nd of September for the Sony PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows-Based systems.
Capcom is also very happy to announce that the Xbox 360 owners will be able to obtain an exclusive experience of the game's gameplay with the release of Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO. Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO is the game's downloadable prologue and it's going to be available as downloadable content only on the Xbox LIVE shortly before the release of the full game. Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO will provide a connection between the original game and the events that await the players in the paradise of the Fortune City.
The Downloadable Prologue CASE ZERO was announced at X10, Microsoft's global media event in San Francisco. The attending media were given the opportunity to explore the zombie infested casino in the latest demo of Dead Rising 2.
Dead Rising 2 adds a new twist with weapon combinations. The Dead rising series are known for letting players pick up and use everyday items to block off hordes of the undead, but in Dead Rising 2, players can combine two objects and make one unique weapon. An innocent water gun and a can of gasoline can become a deadly flamethrower, and a garden rake combined with a car battery can become an electrified zombie prod.
Weapon combinations will offer unique ways to tackle with the hordes of undead in Dead Rising 2. The more combo weapons a player uses, the more Prestige Points he will be awarded.
Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO requires players to have an Xbox LIVE Membership in order to be able to download it. Details including the release date and pricing will be announced soon.
