The Xbox 360 has been around for seven years now but it looks as though it is finally losing momentum. Microsoft’s new financial figures show that they have sold a mere 1.4 million Xbox 360 consoles from January to March this year. This is a significant 48 percent drop from this time last year.

Due to this sad fact, revenues for the business behind Xbox, fell by 33 percent to $584 million. Kinect sales are also down, making Xbox Live the only part that is increasing the company profits. The console that had its début in 2005 has been selling so well for the last few years, that there doesn’t look like there will be a new generation for at least another two years. As such, the falling sales could cause problems for Microsoft, who are already having trouble launching their Windows Phones, that aren’t proving to be popular.

Interactive Entertainment announced today the launch of The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn’s Quest, a third-person action adventure video game offering a family-friendly gameplay experience based on The Lord of the Rings, for PlayStation 3 with PlayStation Move motion controller support, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS hand-held, PlayStation 2  and PSP (PlayStation Portable) system.

Criterion Games, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. today announced a demo for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. The demo will give gamers early access to this holiday’s hottest action racing title.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit ships on November 19th, 2010 and is already earning accolades from critics worldwide for pioneering a new innovation within the racing category. “Need for Speed Hot Pursuit could redefine online racing forever,” stated GamesRadar in their summer preview of the game. In Europe, Eurogamer noted that, “Friends, data and photos continuously stream into view, all offering new gameplay opportunities and challenges.”

Square Enix London Studios today announced that the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum, licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of DC Entertainment, will be available in the United Kingdom from 22nd October, 2010, on the PlayStation®3 Platinum range from Sony and the Xbox 360 Classics range from Microsoft.

Wargming.net announced today the release of two new maps entitled Komarin and Cliff, for its massively multiplayer online action game that is called World of Tanks, and is currently in Closed-Beta.

Based upon different geographic locations, the new battlefields provide many-sided gameplay and numerous tactical opportunities. KOMARIN reflects a tiny village somewhere in the Eastern Europe covered with a spring tide, whereas CLIFF is a reference to the coast of Normandy with its lone rocks, small fisherman settlements and ! endless shorelines.

EXOR Studios is very proud to announce the second free expansion for Zombie Driver that will introduce the new “Blood Race” mode into the game.

This time players will be able to race against other zombie apocalypse survivors in a brutal tournament in which the only rule is survival of the quickest.

New exclusively created race tracks  are full of destructible elements as well as hordes of zombies that try their best to prevent contestants from finishing the race. New explosive in-game footage is now available while more details about this new game mode including the release date will be unveiled soon.

Adventurers have access to the new world boss “Amboriar”, after the Guardian’s Awakening brings the new content to the world of Runes of Magic. The anticipated new difficulty levels for the dungeon, Raksha Temple, are also now available.

The group instance was available in two different difficulty levels previously, for players that are 58th level and above – easy and normal and adventurers can now also choose between five additional difficulty levels in normal mode.

Opponent values are higher in other modes – ranging from 25% higher in bronze mode all the way up to 125% higher in diamond mode.

Tripwire Interactive and Teotl Studios announced that The Ball is now available for pre-purchase on Valve’s Steam Platform for the price of 18 Euros. Players can also grab the game for 10% off until the 26th of October, which changes its price to 16 Euros.

Players who pre-order The Ball through Steam will also receive The Ball hero as a playable character in Killing Floor.

The Ball will officially launch on Valve’s Steam Platform on the 26th of October for the price of 20$ or 18 Euros for Europe.

Game Bridger Entertainment announced the grand opening of their In-Game based Item Mall, for its new parkour racing game entitled, FreeJack. FreeJack is a free-to-play game, and Game Bridger is also giving away extra ten percent GamerKash with each deposit made throughout October 20th.

Electronic Arts is very happy to announce their new MicroBot Arcade Shooter, which will deliver unique gameplay experience to players, while taking them inside the human body.

This new arcade-style Shooter will be available in the winter, next year, on the Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 Console and PlayStation Network for the Sony PlayStation 3 Console. The objective of the game is to destroy the biotechnological infestation in the human body, by controlling the microscopic ship entitled MicroBot.

UTV Ignition Entertainment announced that Blacklight: Tango Down will be released on the PlayStation Network on the 26th of October, expecting to follow the success of the Xbox LIVE Arcade version of the game.

The game will launch fully updated with a PlayStation Network Exclusive Downloadable Content for only fifteen dollars, including features like the Join-in-Progress Function, which allows players to join a game without waiting for an intermission.

Borderlands – Game of the Year Edition is now available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows-Based PCs for the price of 29GBP. The Game of the Year editions come with the stand-alone game, accompanied by all the downloadable add-ons ever released for the game.
